I purchased a GOP 10.8 VLI about 18 months ago and have only used it for the odd small job. While recently useing it it stopped occilating. As it was out of warrantee I remover the front gearbox to find the little plastic coupling between the motor drive gear and the gearbox had sheared. I contacted Bosch Service Centre who advised me I needed to purchase a new motor.
I replied that there was nothing wrong with the motor and that the faulty part looked as if it were designed to shear if the tool was overloaded. I find it hard to believe that a new motor has to be purchased each time this part fails.
I am waiting to recieve a responce to my request.

Hi Mike

I've spoken to the technical team and they have confirmed that this part is not manufactored as a separate component. As a result the repair involves a new motor. As this is their area I would have to go with their advice here. Sorry Mike it's not the answer you wanted to hear but that is what it is.

I know it is not relevent to you for this machine but I would always take advantage of the extended warranty offer for all professional tools.

I hope you get a positive response from the service team.

Kind regards

The Bob Team.
