What are the advantages of Li-ion technology?

In contrast to nickel batteries, Li-ion batteries offer the advantages of high energy density, i.e. a low weight and no self-discharge, which means that the tools are always ready to use. As Li-ion batteries do not have a memory effect, they can be charged at any time. Li-ion batteries are also characterised by full performance to the last cut, whereas the performance of nickel batteries steadily declines.
